A Year of Growth

Throughout the year, our team worked hard to achieve great results. We had a great growth of customers, revenue, and service offerings. As a confirmation of our outstanding customer services, Velvetech has achieved A+ rating with the BBB.

2016 Strategic Shifts

We are proud to announce that this year we’ve reached the status of Microsoft Gold Certified Partner in custom software development competence. The Velvetech team demonstrated our core capabilities, proficiency, and skills to prove the Gold status. This status benefits our clients in terms of technical expertise and services we provide.

As an expert in CRM implementation and integration projects, we were delighted to become a partner of bpm’online. Our team members are certified bpm’online developers and business analysts, who have established the efficient process of implementing the CRM capabilities in various successful projects. By the end of the year, we are happy to congratulate bpm’online on being named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: CRM Suites for Midsize Organizations, Q4 2016.

This year Velvetech has joined PandaDoc Partner Enablement program. PandaDoc is a well-established document management software solution that can be easily integrated with different apps. Now Velvetech works to integrate PandaDoc with bpm’online and to provide the best user experience of document workflow to CRM users.

Discovery and Expansion

2016 was a year of innovations and new opportunities. We’ve learned along the way and added some new technologies to our skill list. We continued our expansion in serving domains and extended our expertise with the new areas.

IoT

For many years, we’ve had a solid background in designing sensor devices and developing data monitoring and tracking systems for business. This year, we took it a step further and started working with consumer markets as well. One of the most striking examples was an IoT product development partnership with a start-up company out of Chicago. Velvetech created an emergency response center monitoring cloud and helped to design innovative wearable personal safety device that works in concert with a mobile app.

VoIP and Unified Communications

We made a breakthrough in call center automation solutions. As a result, we established a single-window communication system where the VoIP phone system can be seamlessly integrated with any CRM. Among other benefits, the system is very easy to setup and use. In 2016 we focused on integration with 2600hz’s cloud unified communications technology — Kazoo UC platform, and started developing custom apps for its Apps Exchange, including our innovative contact center management solutions.

Financial Services

Being a recognized solution provider for the financial industry, this year we had some notable achievements. Velvetech developed several investment portfolio management and capital markets trading apps. We also worked on hardware acceleration technologies for financial services companies.
Tradespoon, a software technology providing daily stock and options picks with entry and exit points was recommended by Barron’s and was elected a finalist in 2016 Benzinga Fintech Award Competition in Best in Class Trading Idea Platform & Apps category. As a software development partner of Tradespoon, we are happy for this success of our valuable client.

Healthcare

We continued working on healthcare software solutions, delivered integrated solutions for medical practice automation and systems for patients data monitoring and management. We significantly enhanced CollectStream, our patient payment and revenue cycle management system for hospitals, medical and dental practices. To provide the best-in-class solution, we focused on HIPAA and PCI compliance requirements and integration with leading EHR/EMR systems.

Insurance

Using our profound experience in insurance business, we deliver solutions that are capable of enhancing our clients’ competitiveness and efficiency.

In 2016, we’ve significantly improved an online insurance platform that aggregates business insurance options from the leading carriers. The platform is designed specifically to streamline the insurance application and underwriting processes for the small-business owners.

We helped our client to implement the new system architecture based on Microsoft .NET, Microservices, CQRS, and EventStore technologies. The new system makes the process of getting the right business insurance policy quick and easy for insurance clients.

Food Processing and Distribution

In 2016, we worked to expand and enhance our innovative solutions for Food Processing, Food Distribution, and Cold Chain Management. Our portfolio has grown up to include:

Cold Chain Monitoring Solutions

We’ve created new temperature sensor devices and expanded our software solutions for temperature and humidity monitoring and GPS route tracking. These solutions help perishable food shippers, carriers, and receivers comply with all temperature monitoring requirements, reduce shrinkage of the perishable product during in-transit times, and improve the product shelf lives at store locations.

Supply Chain Management Software

In partnership with AgPlus, we developed a Supply Chain Management software solution to help Fresh Produce Industry players easily organize and assess price quotes from their suppliers.

Catering Employee Scheduling Software

We implemented an innovative software solution that automates scheduling process for food catering businesses. It uses bulk-texting and IVR phone call blast technologies and makes shifts available via employee notifications while providing managers with real-time visibility of the workflow and accountability monitoring.

QR Сode Payments for Food Delivery

We continue enhancing our software product for client invoicing, billing, and payment processing. The solution allows food delivery merchants to generate a QR code to print on the bill or display on a tablet screen. When receiving the order, customers just scan the code to pay the bill.

A Year of Inspiration

This year we’ve participated in several leading industry events, conferences, and exhibitions. It was inspiring for us to meet a lot of outstanding people there, build relationships with new partners, and get some innovative business ideas.

Inside Velvetech

We ended the year with a 16% growth of our team. We are currently 32% women, up from 25% last year. Finally, 6 children were born in the families of our employees this year. This is a great number for our young team and we are extremely happy for them.

Supporting the software development and IT services consulting aspect of our company, 70% of our team have engineering roles.
